Foxdale School

A happy, safe and inclusive school at the heart of the community, where pupils are empowered to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners.

At Foxdale School we are committed to supporting our pupils in developing the knowledge, skills and understanding which they need to lead healthy, confident and independent lives now and in the future. A key part of this is our PSHE and RSE curriculum.

What is PSHE?

PSHE stands for Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education.

What is RSE?

RSE stands for Relationship and Sex Education.

How is it taught?

We follow the KAPOW primary whole school programme to support the teaching and delivery of PSHE and RSE across the school. Kapow's Primary scheme takes a spiral approach to the curriculum and therefore these areas will be revisited and further developed across our year groups. This ensures progression of skills, knowledge, and understanding. KAPOW also offers specific mixed age group programmes, which allows us to best meet the needs of our children at Foxdale School. The following topics will be taught;

• Family and relationships

• Health and wellbeing

• Safety and the changing body

• Citizenship

• Economic wellbeing (with the exception of Reception)

This academic year (2024-2025), to support an effective and efficient delivery of the curriculum, your child's year group may be taught PSHE alongside a different year group to the year group they share a class with. This decision is intended to best support the emotional, social and educational needs of our pupils and you can find details of the groupings below.
