We have been practicing our Hockey skills on the Astro-Turf outside every Thursday in Hockey Club. We've been working on passing and shooting as well as tackling other players ready for a few hockey matches.
As part of our topic of Gadgets and Gizmos, we've been looking into Lego WeDo 2.0 and learning how to code. The children build the models and then use computer code to control the operations and complete simple tasks. I've been blown away by how independent the children have been in their learning.
Cornelly have been reading and analysing "The Jamie Drake Equation". We have been looking at the text for inference and gathering ideas. We have then been using the plot as a platform to jump from for our own writing, looking specifically at punctuation and speech.
