A happy, safe and inclusive school at the heart of the community, where pupils are empowered to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners.
As part of our Harvest Theme of looking at local produce this week, we were visited by local dairy Farmer Paul Kermeen and Shirley Callow, Marketing Manager for Isle of Man Creameries. The children thoroughly enjoyed a talk from Paul and son Matthew (from Year 5 Foxdale) all about the life of a dairy farmer and how the cattle are looked after during different times of the year including; diets, medications and how each animal has their own passport! Shirley explained the role of the Creameries Co-operative and how all the Island diary farmers work together with the Isle of Man Creameries to ensure our local milk complies to the highest quality standards! Afterwards the children were given a free carton of milk and samples of the different cheeses sold by the Creameries including; Peppercorn and a variety of Mature Cheddars. A big thank you to Paul & Shirley for a great start to our local produce theme for Harvest.
